I found the colony on my property when I spotted a feral cat following my indoor/outdoor cat Katie. I have since found out that Katie is friends with the colony. There are seven cats in the colony, and they all made their way, one way or another, onto my property. They sleep in the hay bales. I feed them during the winter by leaving them food in a sheltered area near the hay bales, and I set up windbreaks to provide them with more sheltered areas during the winter. All the cats in the colony are eartipped and have been fixed at one time or another. They are doing well and have a safe home here as long as they want to live on my family’s ranch.
