I first saw Mama Cat disappearing under my porch. When I looked over the edge there were 2 kittens. I called the local humane society to see what was the best thing to do for this cat family, there were 4 kittens, and was directed to Feral Cat Rescue. The cats were trapped, neutered and vaccinated. The kittens were put up for adoption and Mama came to live on my property for 10 years. We became good friends and I respected her boundaries. She appeared at my French doors every morning for food and fresh water. She didn’t want to come inside but would follow me around outside. When I went away a friend would come to feed her. She survived snow and cold and was a beautiful little lady. Sadly she is now gone but I do hope I made a difference in her life.
