A dear friend had a number of feral cats come through her yard. She began putting food out and they came regularly so she had names for them. As winter approached she found ways to shelter them in winter and to provide water. She did this for several years but finally decided to move into a retirement center miles away. She then began the task of finding someone who loved cats who would continue caring for them and someone did come forward and is taking care of them still today. My friend passed away this past year but died with the assurance that the cats she had grown to love were still being cared for.
